Mom who lost daughter to OxyContin goes after Purdue Pharma execs
October 1st, 2007 by Todd HagemanOn Sept. 12, Pharmalot described a web site set up by Marianne Skolek. Skolek’s daughter died after she was prescribed Oxycontin. Now Skolek is using the power of the Internet to seek justice and as a way to rally other families who have lost loved ones to the drug.
In addition to the web site, Skolek has also filed grievances against Purdue’s top lawyer Howard Udell and against the top medical director, Paul Goldenheim, She wants Udell disbarred; that grievance has been referred to a state panel. In her grievance against Goldenheim, Skolek would like to see his medical license revoked. Both men have already paid fines to the government in the OxyContin debacle, to the tune of $8 million and $7.5 million, respectively.
