Simon۰Passanante Launches Innovative Video-Rich Website

St. Louis — St. Louis-based law firm Simon♦Passanante has launched a new, video-rich website that incorporates multiple blogs.

“The website is innovative and bursts with informative videos and law blogs,” says partner John G. Simon. “Our goal was to use multimedia to turn our firm inside out, to show others who we are and what we do.”

Located at www.simonpassanante.com, the website includes 160 videos in which the firm’s lawyers describe numerous aspects of trial practice and elaborate on many of the firm’s 20 practice areas such as antitrust, commercial and environmental law.

According to Simon, “The videos at our new site are strategically placed to enhance the text. Some website users absorb information more easily as readers while others are watchers. Our approach accommodates both types of users.”

The videos are fed to users in a context-sensitive way. If a user wants to learn more about intellectual property, for example, the IP practice area page invites users to click on a video console to select and view any of sixteen IP videos.

The website videos also include biographical information about the firm’s lawyers, testimonials from clients and referring attorneys, and presentations from Simon♦Passanante’s annual Trial Practice Seminar benefiting Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. In addition, the new website features law blogs on a variety of topics including torts, products liability, medical malpractice, business litigation, consumer law class actions and the firm’s recent verdicts and settlements.

The website was designed by Nick Smith of www.nicksmithdesign.com. Smith explains that much of his work focused on “seamlessly integrating the multimedia content, including videos, blogs, hundreds of still images and written text.”

Simon♦Passanante attorney Erich Vieth oversaw the website development project. He notes that the firm considered several approaches before settling on this dynamic video-rich site. “The basic problem is that everything seems important, but there just isn’t enough room on the homepage for all of it. The trick was to spray the information into sub-pages in a way that is easy-to-access.”
