Simon٠Passanante lawyer Amy Collignon Gunn has received the Lon O. Hocker Award from the Missouri Bar Foundation and has been named an Up & Coming Lawyer by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
St. Louis – Simon٠Passanante is pleased to announce that Amy Collignon Gunn has received the prestigious Lon O. Hocker Award from the Missouri Bar Foundation. Gunn has also been honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly as a 2007 Up & Coming Lawyer.
The Lon O. Hocker Awards were first established in 1954 by Mary B. Hocker in memory of her late husband. Each year the Missouri Bar Foundation recognizes three young lawyers who have demonstrated “unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy.” Gunn will accept the award on Sept. 28 at The Missouri Bar/Missouri Judicial Conference annual meeting.
Missouri Lawyers Weekly also announced today that Gunn has been named a 2007 Up & Coming Lawyer. The recognition is awarded to attorneys under the age of 40 who have dedicated themselves to the legal profession and merit recognition. After receiving a record number of nominations, a selection committee made up of Missouri Lawyers Weekly editors chose 35 Missouri attorneys for the award.
Gunn graduated from Transylvania University in 1993 and the Saint Louis University School of Law, where she was the managing editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal, in 1996. She practices in the areas of personal injury, product liability and medical malpractice litigation. Gunn has tried cases in both Missouri and Illinois and has handled numerous cases that have resulted in multimillion-dollar settlements. She is also an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law.
She is married to lawyer Kevin Gunn and is the mother of two young boys.

Gunn is the second lawyer at Simon٠Passanante to be honored with the Lon O. Hocker Award; founding partner Paul J. Passanante was a recipient in 1981.
