Using the Team Concept to Develop Cases

May 1st, 2007 by Erich Vieth

According to law partner John Simon, the firm of Simon Passanante uses a team concept extensively.

Any case that you pick in this office is being handled by a team that can consist of one or more attorneys, one or more paralegals, one or more secretaries, one or more law clerks, and the team really works up the case.  We meet on cases on a regular basis–we literally sit down in a conference room and talk about, you know, what we’ve done in the case, what’s our game plan in the case.  I compare it a lot to — to building a house or constructing a building.  You sit down, you get the framework, the foundation, you know.  What do we need? What are we trying to prove?  What’s the law?  These strategic sessions evolve as the case evolves.
